SMI was “executed” on April 25/ Monika Kryemadhi “commemorates the fallen”

The April 25th parliamentary elections brought a severe blow to Ilir Meta?s party, the Socialist Movement for Integration, which is now led by his wife, Monika Kryemadhi. From 19 mandates he received 4 years ago, in the elections of April 25, 2021, the SMI was reduced to only 4 mandates, where ?leads? the deputy with only 362 votes Petrit Vasili.

After the ?melting? of the SMI, and after accepting the loss, Monika Kryemadhi ?disappeared? from television screens and social networks. No single words, no reaction from her for many weeks. But today she is ?wake up? to commemorate the ?grace? of her party.

The 17th anniversary of the creation of the SMI, prompted Kryemadhi to write two lines of congratulations for the SMI on social networks. In a post on her profile, Kryemadhi reminds the party that no longer exists, or its ?grace?, after the SMI was ?executed? at the age of 17, on April 25, 2021, where it received a fatal blow.

But while remembering the ?fallen? of the SMI, Kryemadhi writes that the ?mission? continues. ?Happy Birthday SMI! Happy Birthday for all of you boys and girls, men and women, for all of you who love her, you that have fought and continue to fight for what the SMI represents. The mission continues?- writes Monika Kryemadhi.

Perhaps Kryemadhi is talking about the ?mission? that began on April 25, and who led to the final sinking of the party of her husband Ilir Meta, today President of Albania.

We recall that the Socialist Movement for Integration was created on September 6, 2004, as a group of politicians separated from the Socialist Party, led by Ilir Meta.

In the first elections he ran in 2005, the SMI won 3 seats. In 2009 won 4 seats and became part of the government for the first time, thanks to the coalition with the Democratic Party.

In the 2013 elections the SMI won 16 seats and formed the government with the SP, while in 2017 it reached the peak with 19 seats won, but passed into opposition. Former chairman of the SMI, Ilir Meta was elected President of the Republic of Albania. In those elections, the SMI ran with Petrit Vasili as its chairman. Then the party was led by Monika Kryemadhi, who continues to led it until today.

Whereas, today SMI continues to be in opposition, after the fatal blow it received in the elections of April 25, 2021, where it ended with only 4 mandates of deputies, respectively Agron Çela in Shkodra with 2,656 votes, Erisa Xhixho in Tirana with 1.065 votes, Monika Kryemadhi in Fier with 1.771 votes and Petrit Vasili in Tirana with only 362 votes./CNA.al
