The Special Prosecutor's Office communicates the charges to the 3 directors

On Tuesday, the Special Prosecutor's Office officially communicated the accusations to the 3 directors of Tirana Municipality, Mariglen Qatos, Redi Molla and Taulant Tushes.

Sources inform that Molla e Qatos has been charged with the criminal offenses of "passive corruption" and "non-declaration of assets", while Tusha is accused of "Violation of equality in tenders".

Sources from SPAK inform that the investigations are continuing since the investigation phase for the collection of facts and evidence by SPAK has not yet ended with the communication of the charges.  

On March 28, 2024, GJKKO scheduled "prison arrest" for Redi Molla, former Director of Water and Sewerage in the Municipality of Tirana, Taulant Tusha, former Director of Public Works in the Municipality of Tirana, Mariglen Qato, former Director of the Inspectorate of Protection of Territory, in Tirana Municipality.

6 other security measures that were also approved by the court were mandatory submissions, which include former members of the bid evaluation commission.

According to the prosecution, Redi Molla during the time he was the Director of "Tirana Waterworks" and Mariglen Qato during the time he was the Director of the UKT Support Department announced the winner of the company "5D Konstruksion" sh.pk in 11 tenders.

SPAK has evidence that this company was owned by 3 people who were fictitious partners, while the real partners and "de facto" owners were Mariglen Qato and Redi Molla, who had social ties and friendly ties.

SPAK stated that the company was declared the winner in these tenders from 2016 to 2020./ CNA
