The death of Ismail Kadare, the French presidency: He lived and created as a

The French presidency has shared a message about the death of the famous writer, Ismail Kadare.

In response, it is underlined that Kadareja lived as a free man, in a country like Soviet Albania.

"The Franco-Albanian writer Ismail Kadare has left us. He was one of those for whom writing is a struggle, one of those whose every word is disconnected from silence, of those whose every line risks making them more heavy report, from those whose every novel threatens to be the epitaph of their career.

Because he lived and created as a free man, in a country that was not: post-war Soviet Albania, under the iron yoke of Enver Hoxha.

But the discovery of literature opened the shores of a new world for the teenager. Reading Cervantes, Homer and Gogol, he strengthened his intellectual resistance. So much so that the indoctrination of literature pedagogues, at the University of Tirana and at the Gorky Institute in Moscow, the temple of official literature, slipped.

Instead of rising in the ranks of the "elite corps of socialist realism", as it was called, he joined the resistance fighters of the freedom of style. His great 1963 novel, The General of the Dead Army, was tolerated because its subject matter was disturbing, its dreaminess thwarted by communist labels: the exhumation of World War II soldiers in front of a priest and an Italian soldier in the rain Albanian that continues to fall", the statement says.

The colossus of Albanian literature passed away in the early hours of Monday at the age of 88 from natural causes.

Tuesday and Wednesday are days of mourning in Albania, as a sign of honor and respect in memory of the well-known writer.

Public tributes and state ceremonies will be held tomorrow at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet in Tirana, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meanwhile, at 13:00 on Wednesday, every activity will be stopped and a minute of silence will be held in honor of the colossus of Albanian letters.

Kadare is considered one of the giants of Albanian literature. Author of dozens of novels, poems and essays, he is probably among the most famous Albanians in the world, with his works translated into over 40 different languages ??and published all over the world./ CNA
