The murder of Pjerin Xhuvani/ Ilir Meta risks criminal prosecution

The majority has started the procedures for the dismissal of the President of the Republic Ilir Meta with the collection of 50 signatures of the deputies, which yesterday were handed over to the head of the parliament Gramoz Ruçi. According to the Socialists, the president has been involved in the election campaign, thus violating the Constitution. The president had to be impartial, and his positions had to be on the sides. But the majority says that he was not only involved in the election campaign, but called for war, murder and bloodshed.

Even, according to the Socialists, even behind the murder in Elbasan of Pjerin Xhuvani, stands Ilir Meta. The statement was made by the socialist MP Alket Hyseni. ?The president has incited violence. Meta is responsible for supporting illegitimate structures such as the vote protection group, with people with dubious backgrounds, but also other people armed with weapons, that in Elbasan caused the killing of one person and the wounding of several others. So, in addition to seeing if the Constitution has been violated, will go further to see if Meta should be prosecuted, and the case will be transferred to the Prosecution. The victim Pjerin Xhuvani was part of the party of Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi in Elbasan and Tirana from 2009 until the summer of 2015. He was the chairman of the SMI in Elbasan until 2015, and the central figure of this party in this area.

In government with Edi Rama, Ilir Meta had entrusted Xhuvani with the management of the Regional Directorate of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund in Tirana.
