Fires in the country/ Berisha: Destruction, state crime

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a press conference, called the destruction caused by the fires a state crime.

According to Berisha, Albania was found disarmed during the fires.

"I condemn as a state crime the disgusting, deceptive propaganda of the narco-government, which spoke of tens of thousands of forces engaged at a time when journalists from the battlefield were reporting that firefighters or other forces were counted on the fingers of their hands to put out fires.

Today I am here to clarify to Albanians why the destruction caused by these fires is a true state crime, a state crime because irresponsibly, due to corruption, theft, indifference and ignorance, Albania was found disarmed.

Albania suffered fires two to three times larger than the region. Every country was much better prepared than Albania in the battle against the fires.

"The existing air fleet was halved over the years from 8 helicopters, today not even three are in operation. Meanwhile, it is a state crime that Edi Rama has spent 24 million euros in two years for his own trips with the available aircraft," said Berisha./ CNA
