The master of humor, Todi Llupi, passes away

Master of humor Todi Llupi has passed away at the age of 78. Todi Llupi was one of the most prominent figures of the Fier Professional Show and the "Bylis" Theater, an artist who for decades gave the public smiles, emotion and true art.

Born in Fier on March 1, 1948, Todi Llupi dedicated himself to the stage since 1971, as a professional actor of the Fier Estrada.

With his rare talent, he performed hundreds of roles in comedies, sketches, parodies, couplets, monologues, pantomimes and dialogues, creating characters that remained unforgettable in the public's memory.

His acting was distinguished by its folk spirit, masterful use of the Myzeqar dialect, and lively interpretation of the characters of ordinary people. As a coupletist and parodist, he also stood out for his beautiful tenor voice, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Albanian humor.

One of his most famous interpretations remains the parody "Do martojmë Malon" (1982), which turned him into one of the most beloved artists on the Albanian scene.

For his valuable contribution to art and culture, he was honored with the title "Merited Artist" in 1989, while on April 10, 2021, he was decorated by the President of the Republic with the high title "Grand Master", in appreciation of his extraordinary contribution to Albanian stage art and humor./ CNA
