Damage from fires in the country/ Ministry: Assessment and compensation in each

The fires that have engulfed the country for several days have caused extensive material damage due to the burning of homes, businesses, cultural objects, and agriculture.

For this reason, the Ministry of Defense announces that the assessment and compensation of damages caused by the fires will be carried out in each affected municipality, according to a special procedure.

The procedure begins with their identification by the Assessment Group for the inventory of damages, established by order of the Mayor.

This group carries out an inventory of damages to housing, infrastructure, businesses, agricultural crops, mechanical equipment, social-cultural facilities and fills out forms with financial costs.

Then, based on the procedure, municipalities prepare lists of damaged entities and relevant documentation, and after a financial assessment, each municipality determines the cost of compensation, which is carried out from the funds of the affected municipality, through the civil protection fund. /CNA
