"Albania is burning"/ Këlliçi: Fires are eating the

The elected DP MP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, reacted this evening regarding the fires that have spread across the country.

Through a post on social media, Këlliçi says that fires are burning across Albania and families are losing everything.

Këlliçi adds that protecting life cannot be an option, but a major obligation of the state.

"Albania is burning!"

The fires are eating the country like hungry wolves. Families are losing everything. Homes, livestock, forests are being burned.

This is not a natural disaster, but a betrayal of the people, of those who are witnessing the ashes of burning over a lifetime of work and hardship, and of the firefighters, soldiers, and emergency forces left to the mercy of fate right in the line of fire.

This is not just a hot summer, but a country that burns in body and conscience from the state's failure to protect its citizens.

With the start of Parliament, my first effort as an MP will be to address this catastrophe to recognize other preventable responsibilities.
