The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, closely inspected today the construction works for the athletics track and the new football field at the University of Sports of Tirana.

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said that this project aims to set a new standard in university sports infrastructure, serving not only to improve the study and practice conditions for students of the University of Sports, but also to prepare elite athletes and support the wider sports community.

"This investment is among the most important that we are making for the University of Sports, which will serve not only the students of this university, but I am also convinced that it will serve the community and the preparation of elite athletes and certainly the younger generations. This is a field that is being completely requalified. The work has already begun and part of the works have been carried out on the football field, the athletics track, as well as in the relevant subdisciplines", said Manastirliu.

She noted that the work is in an advanced stage and is expected to be completed by the end of this year to pave the way for other investments in this university.

"By November, we will complete this investment and next year we will continue the investments to create the opportunity for all disciplines to have the best standards in terms of didactic, academic, but also practical aspects and with the scientific research that we are supporting through the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation," said Manastirliu.

This investment, in addition to direct benefits for hundreds of students studying at this university, will also impact the development of scientific research in the field of sports, through the support that MAS is providing through the Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation.

Minister Manastirliu also underlined that such investments, accompanied by new partnerships, will strengthen academic excellence, professional practice and turn the University of Sports into a model center for the development of sports in the country./CNA
