Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the situation with the fires would have been different if the country had its own aircraft, but this comes at a cost.

Through a communication with citizens on social networks, Rama stated that those who discuss firefighting aircraft should go back to their calculations to understand the amount this expense requires.

"Now, without a doubt, if we had our own planes, it would be even better. No one denies this. But whoever does the calculations without the innkeeper, should go back to the calculations a little to understand that planes are not just a word of mouth. There is something else here, that some without a mind or out of a desire to believe it, have also eaten the big blunder that I, the government, have bought planes for myself. There is no plane bought for myself and I repeat, the much-talked-about plane used by me only for official trips, only for official trips, because on every other private trip, I take airliners and I am regularly with my family in economy. Always! This is evidenced by all the declared tickets and which are easily verifiable. So the plane used for official trips has not cost and does not cost the Albanian state more than the sum of the average expenses incurred each year by the Prime Minister of Albania, including here in the average and with honor my predecessor.
