"It's Rama's agenda"/ DP boycotts plenary session

The Democratic Party has announced that it will not participate in tomorrow's plenary session.

In a reaction from the parliamentary group, it is stated that the reason for the boycott is the calling of the session on Tuesday and not on the normal protest day, that is, Thursday.

The DP parliamentary group says that this session was called for the Prime Minister's personal agenda and without any agenda.

 

 

NOTICE

 

The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group decided not to participate in Tuesday's plenary session, an illegal session, called in open violation of the Assembly's Rules of Procedure, outside its normal day (Thursday) and with the Agenda: approval of minutes and announcements.

This is not a normal parliamentary session, but a meeting called for the personal agenda of the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly, without any officially approved or announced agenda, and in violation of the minimum procedures guaranteed by the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.

A parliament without an agenda, without debate, and without a voice for the opposition is no longer a parliament, but a prop for government propaganda. A personal shop that does not serve the public interest.

Instead of Parliament dealing with the real problems of citizens and exercising control over the government, it has become an anti-democratic instrument in the service of the Prime Minister, obstructing justice in the investigation of corruption and becoming a serious obstacle to Albania's full membership in the European Union.

For this reason, the opposition refuses to become part of this parliamentary facade tomorrow and chooses to be where any responsible opposition should be: close to the citizens.

Our priority this week remains meeting with citizens across the country and mobilizing for the March 22 protest. Because the real problem of Albania today is a government that has become a national danger. Therefore, the opposition is determined to stand with the citizens and lead the battle for change, a zero-tolerance fight against corruption, and responsible governance at the service of citizens.
