Teliti: The majority uses integration as an instrument to shame Albanians

Democrat Dorjan Teliti accused the socialist majority today of using the country's integration into the European Union only as an instrument to throw ashes in the eyes of Albanians.

Invited to "Syri TV", Teliti said that Prime Minister Edi Rama has chosen this path for a long time, and according to him, he has shown this approach since the time when the Socialist Party was in opposition.

"Apparently, here, justice was only when it hit opponents. To hit Sali Berisha unjustly, to hit Ilir Meta, Fatmir Mediu and so on, justice was in order for Edi Rama."

Now that justice comes to his door, to his house, to his office, to his close associates, here then there is no more injustice, there is no more court, no more prosecutor, no more justice, but now they turn into tools and the nervousness is palpable, it is obvious that they can no longer hold their nerves apparently and at the first moment that some real facts are mentioned about how it is possible that a citizen for electricity is imprisoned and has even killed himself, while billions of euros have disappeared, there the prime minister can no longer hold his nerves, let's say, until he reaches insults and personal names, and then even expels journalist Meta from the prime minister's building, in the specific case so that she will not enter there again, so as not to ask the next embarrassing questions.

Now the media is the media, the media is independent, it must ask its own questions, there are no wrong questions, there are wrong answers. And yesterday we witnessed extremely wrong answers from the majority leader and the government leader, who instead of talking to the citizens and answering the concrete questions and concrete concerns they have, simply showed the next force, as he did two days ago with the cards in parliament, a force which one day very soon, I assure you, will be exhausted and will receive the deserved answer.

Look, Rama has not chosen this path today. You remember, in 2012, 2013, we were ready to open the integration process. It was Edi Rama then, the leader of the opposition, who, with the justification of the Fier District Council, blocked integration. Integration has never been an objective of this majority.

It was an instrument to throw ash in the eyes of Albanians that supposedly the current government is working for integration. Integration was not a current objective, because if it had been for integration, we would not have had the partial voting, we would not have had the cannabization of Albania, we would not have had the depopulation of Albania, we would not have had the use and dumping of billions of dirty euros on the market, especially in the construction sector.

We would not have had the staggering abuses, which have been ascertained by official reports from the foreign ministries of the European Union member states, or even the European Commission itself.

We would not have had the lack of voice of MPs, representatives of the people, mayors, ordinary citizens. We would not have had non-implementation of decisions of the Constitutional Court, such as the case of Olta Xhaçka and so on.

So we would have behaved as a country, as a government, as a state, which is a provision of the European Union, Speaker 1: provision of which the affairs in those states are managed. But here in Albania the opposite has happened.

It was used purely for rhetoric, simply because there is no left or right that does not want European Union integration, it was used in electoral campaigns and is used as discourse.

The day before yesterday, with this kick that the European Council gave Albania with that vote that was held, the European passport was unfortunately torn. Fortunately, we move freely in Europe today and this is the merit of the party, of the Democratic Party government.

"If it had been for these 13 years of the current government, I believe we would never have been able to freely move to Europe, the way things have been done. But at least we earned that right before Edi Rama was prime minister and before this governance model was installed in Albania," said Teliti. /CNA
