Situation in the Middle East/ Around 3 thousand Albanians in the region,

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, was present today at a hearing in the parliamentary committee, regarding the situation in the Middle East and Albania's position.

Among other things, Hoxha also shared data on Albanians in the region, temporary travelers, and evacuated citizens.

"Let me make a statistical summary on the number of our citizens in the region:

There were 2,962 Albanian citizens residing in the region at the beginning of the conflict.

With temporary residence: 543 citizens; these are travelers.

Contacted by embassies individually, one by one, name by name: 2,511 citizens (85%).

Interested in leaving the conflict zone: 138 citizens.

Assisted/guided to leave in various ways: 703 citizens.

Individually deported: 24 citizens.

Planned to depart individually via safe channels/modes of transportation: 45 citizens.

Citizens who have been evacuated with the assistance of third countries: 17 citizens. It is a practice that when a country that has more opportunities organizes the movement of its own citizens and when there are free places, it also helps citizens of other countries. They have been done in this way", - said Hoxha. /CNA
