Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that yesterday's decision during the plenary session, which rejected SPAK's request to the Parliament to lift Belinda Balluku's immunity, was given a completely distorted echo.

In his speech during a press conference, Rama stated that these efforts aim to hinder not only the continuation of the Justice Reform, but also the country's journey towards the European Union.

"There are several issues that need to be addressed and are in the public interest. I will start from the parliament's decision. It is completely distorted that that decision was given. It is directly related to the great truth that the prosecution's request did not meet the minimum requirement to be taken into consideration. The attempt to link the proposal to another way, which will hinder Albania in the EU, the continuation of the Justice Reform, or the work of justice, is desperate. It has all the ingredients that the attempt to do everything possible to hinder Albania and to stop rapid steps has. Of course, the material in this case is favorable to beat the drum of war against the government and this majority. There is no inhibition on our unstoppable path towards the EU and no discussion on our will to continue on the path that we have opened in the independence of justice and the fight against corruption," said Rama. /CNA
