Ivi Kaso has spoken about his duty as political leader of the Democratic Party of Albania in Korça, where he will face the leader of the Socialist group, Niko Peleshi, in the 2025 elections.
In an interview on A2Cnn with journalist Merita Haklaj, Kaso expressed that he has accepted it as a challenge to make it possible for the DP structures throughout Korça to be revitalized in function of all the revitalization and shake-up that is being done to the DP structures so that they can cope as best as possible in this electoral battle.
Kaso declared that the democratic offer will be the same throughout Albania.
He added that the time has come for not only Albania, but also the region to have a shake-up, to embrace a new reality that will return Albania to a normal country.
"Most people who follow politics are surprised and ask me why, you're not from Korça, you're going to Korça."
I have gone, I have accepted this type of challenge as a political leader to make it possible for the DP structures throughout Korça to be revitalized in function of all the revitalization and shake-up that we are doing to the DP structures and to face this electoral battle as best as possible.
People must be clear that the democratic offer will be the same at the central level, it will be the same throughout Albania.
"I believe the time has come for not only Albania to have a shake-up, to embrace a new reality that will turn Albania into a normal country, to stop talking about the fairy tales that we will be the only shining beacon of the region, but soon in the fourth mandate of this majority that is presented without any balance sheet and without any electoral offer, we will be the light of Europe, we do not promise such things. We promise an emergency package that in the first 100 days will put an end to the corrupt concessionary practices that drain a good part of the state budget, and this budget will be directed towards the needy, towards pensioners, students, all those who today do not find a reason to stay in Albania and take the path of emigration," said Kaso.
Among other things, he spoke about electoral crimes, accusing the government of attempting to steal the votes of immigrants.
Kaso assured that anyone who does this will be held criminally liable.
"Everything they are doing with immigration will not be tolerated and they will be held personally responsible."
"If today Niko Peleshi or Edi Rama tells anyone else not to worry because it's us, tomorrow each of them will have personal criminal responsibility and then they won't be able to do anything for anyone," Kaso said./ CNA
