"No request has been received"/ SPAK reacts after Beleri and Dule were banned from meeting Meta

The Special Prosecution Office reacted after claims by MEP Fredi Beleri and the head of the PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, that they were not allowed to meet Ilir Meta in the premises of prison 313.

SPAK emphasized that Beleri and Dule did not have permission to meet, while they should have received permission from the General Directorate of Prisons.

"Based on Article 51 of Law No. 81 of 2020 "On the Rights and Treatment of Prisoners and Detainees", institutions for the execution of criminal decisions may be visited by deputies, without the prior authorization of the Prosecutor.

In this case, approval is granted by the General Directorate of Prisons.

"As of 15:15 on 31.01.2025, the protocol of the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime has not received any request from citizens Alfred Beleri and Vangjel Dule to meet any detainees," SPAK's response states. /CNA
