"I will be an MP after the elections"/ Meta speaks from his cell: I

Former president and Freedom Party leader Ilir Meta, through a letter from prison, emphasized that he will lead the election campaign from there, adding that this situation he is in has only motivated him more. Among other things, Meta stated that the main objective remains the overthrow of the "Drug Control" and for this he will cooperate with the DP.  

"The Freedom Party will always be a true opposition and to this end will cooperate with the Democratic Party in the interest of protecting political pluralism, the national and public interest, and restoring accountability."

On behalf of the PL, the Secretary General Mr. Tedi Blushi is in charge of pursuing cooperation with the opposition, as is the Chairman of the KDK, Mr. Edmond Haxhinasto. In any case, I will be a deputy of those who have trusted and voted for me since 2005 and onwards.

But, my main objective is the overthrow of the Narco-Regime where the state has not only merged with the Party, as the OSCE - ODIHR have also claimed, but where the state is run by a criminal organization as former Deputy Prime Minister Ahmetaj also proved with facts.

But, this situation is only motivating for me and PL to fight with determination to restore the freedom and dignity of all Albanians who are not only physically in prison and who do not feel free in their country, in their work, in their business and in their lives.

May 11 is a historic date that calls on all honest and patriotic Albanians to unite all efforts so that their children do not remain without a homeland or feel alien and oppressed in the land of their ancestors.

The Freedom Party and its campaign are led by me as its elected President last April in cooperation with all its colleagues and forums. Likewise, our program was made public on April 27, 2024.

Also, the criteria for candidates for deputies have been approved in the most transparent manner by the National Steering Committee and each will be evaluated according to their performance in this decisive battle with the "Narcoregimi".

"The main objective is the victory of the opposition and undoubtedly the representation of the PL will be very dignified," Meta said. /CNA
