Ilir Meta has confessed in a letter for the first time since his arrest three months ago. The leader of the Freedom Party stressed that there is no document proving that he has damaged even a single penny of the state budget in 32 years.

"There is no document that I have damaged a penny of the state budget. The incinerator? It is de jure Veliaj's signature, but de facto it is Edi Rama's. Don't forget Rama's order to do this without the LSI knowing because we had people in the Municipal Council.

"I have not signed for payments nor have I authorized persons to carry out illegal actions. Two people have been convicted for Edi Rama, the first Bilali and the second, the former FBI director, McGonigal. This charade was done to block my political activity," Meta said. /CNA
