Freedom Party MP Petrit Vasili reacted on social media after President Bajram Begaj's request to the Constitutional Court to determine the scheme for the renewal of its members.

The President requested clarification on how to proceed after the end of Judge Sonila Bejtja's mandate in 2025. However, Vasili considers this request by the President as an illegal act, while emphasizing that the judge's mandate ends in 2028.

Petrit Vasili's reaction:

The President becomes an active part of the hijacking of the Constitutional Court!
The President of the Republic requests the opening of a vacancy for Constitutional Judge Sonila Bejtja, thus openly declaring his alignment with the hijackers of the Constitutional Court.
Bejtja's mandate ends in 2028 because she replaced Judge Besnik Muçi, who received a full mandate by decree of President Meta.
The Judicial Appointments Council in 2019 confirms this fact in an irrefutable manner, with the document announcing the results and points after reviewing the candidates who competed for this FULL MANDATE!
The President must immediately withdraw from this illegal request and not further and more seriously compromise the institution that he represents and that has the duty to implement the Constitution and the law and not serve the hijacking and destruction of the Constitutional Court. /CNA
