SP joins DP: Steering Council to stop competition in RTSH

The Chairwoman of the Education and Public Media Committee, Ina Zhupa, has urgently requested that the RTSH Steering Council be summoned to the committee regarding the procedures being conducted for the competition for Director General. Zhupa stated that it is unacceptable and illegal for Council members to invent extralegal procedures.

This statement was joined by the vice-chair of the Media Commission, the socialist Evis Kushi, who reacted in the same line as the democrat, calling the process illegal.

"We have nothing to do with names, we have everything to do with steps, it should be an open, transparent, meritocratic competition, we will send them a letter as you requested to stop the process and inform us what is happening, that they have the right to defend their work if they are doing the right thing as they claim, today or tomorrow, because they have announced hearings on Friday for the 2 candidates they have chosen," said Kushi.

The Steering Council decided on Monday, through a criticized procedure, to disqualify 3 of the 5 candidates on the grounds that they did not meet the criteria./ CNA
