Law on the "Academy of Sciences"/ Zhupa: Parliament and Academy with

The Constitutional Court has reviewed in a plenary session the law 'On the Academy of Sciences', for which the Democratic Party has disputes.

MP Ina Zhupa said that she addressed the Constitutional Court with 3 requests regarding the presence of academic Artan Fuga in the session, to which no response was given.

According to Zhupa, it is intolerable that the Parliament and the Academy of Sciences come up with two different positions.

Zhupa said that it is unacceptable that academics competing for high positions in the Academy are disqualified due to the age criterion, a clear violation of the Constitution of the Republic.

"We have addressed the Constitutional Court with 3 requests to obtain a decision from the judicial body, regarding the presence of academician Artan Fuga in the session. The decision was inappropriate for us to present the opinions of academician Fuga. It was absurd for an academic to be associated with a subject that was a party, the deputies.

The absurdity was that there is no decision from the judicial body and we have received a response from the administration of the Criminal Court. They should have met today and given us a justification, the letter from the administration is in violation of the Constitution and the law, undermining the process.

The summoning of two deputies to testify, why they declared that they received the law from the Academy of Sciences or initiated it themselves. Because we have two positions, the absurdity has happened to us that within the Academy of Sciences and the Assembly, we have two different positions. After the Assembly says that we gave it to the deputies. The deputies have not declared such a thing in public sessions, nor in parliamentary documents.

There is no protocolized request for electronic signature. A law was voted without the rapporteurs' reports, in violation of the Constitution. In the substantial view that the Constitution was violated, that all are equal before the law, that academics over 75 years old cannot run for president or part of the forum assembly. The president enjoys privileges, unlike the members.

"The Constitutional Court should create a standard for the Assembly, so that it is not left solely in the hands of the majority, but in accordance with the rules of parliamentary procedures," said Zhupa./ CNA
