During a visit to the Digital Media Laboratory, at the Journalism Department of the University of Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama was also asked about his clothing style. Rama revealed that years ago, when he became chairman of the Socialist Party, he went to Pandeli Majko's office and how he gave him an ultimatum to take off his red socks, but also to get married.
"The tie is the last island of freedom that I have left. I remember when I became the chairman of the Socialist Party and the next day I went to the office. Pandeli Majko had become the Secretary General and we were opponents because he was nominated by the group that supported Rexhep Mejdani at the time, who was my rival candidate at the time.
I went to Pandi's office and told him "you were against me, but now we have to work together". He told me "before we open this conversation, go take off your red socks and get married". I believe that's where the change began. I have them, but I rarely wear them", said Rama. /CNA
