SP-MP Erion Braçe spoke about the investigations being conducted against Mayor Erion Veliaj.

In an interview on the show "Noë" with Erla Mëhilli, Braçe stated that a standard must be maintained and politics should not impose its will on a person without a final decision from the court.

"Mr. Veliaj is a person under investigation who deserves to be respected in relation to the Constitution, which means he is presumed innocent until a final court decision.

It should apply to everyone. Berisha, unlike Veliaj, is a person under investigation, and there is an accusation against Meta as well.

I think it's too much in this story, you need to get used to the new standard when a politician should do politics, not, let's say, whip the justice system.

"The justice bodies must do their work in complete freedom in accordance with the law to guarantee a fair, equal and, of course, constitutional process for any individual. Bodies such as the prosecution and the court prioritize respect for human rights even in such processes, regardless of their political affiliation," said the MP.

Asked by moderator Erla Mëhilli whether Veliaj should resign, Braçe said that this is an individual matter and everyone judges for themselves in relation to the situation they are in.

But what if the investigation shows that it is impossible to file charges due to the evidence and facts? What if the court dismisses the prosecution's charges, what should happen to the person? I insist on the standard because in this country there is a thin line between justice and lynching.
