During the funeral ceremony of Archbishop Janullatos, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Prime Minister Edi Rama were very close to each other, separated only by a chair belonging to the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Rumors emerged in the media that Berisha changed the protocol just to be near Mitsotakis. Regarding these rumors, the Director of Protocol at the Democratic Party, Ledio Nuraj, reacted. The latter emphasized that Berisha respected the place assigned by the protocol of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church, while adding that any attempt to deviate the truth is an attempt to manipulate the public.

Reaction:

During the magnificent ceremony held at the Orthodox Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Tirana, on the occasion of the funeral of His Beatitude, Archbishop Anastasios, there were ugly attempts to distort the truth about the placement of personalities at this important event.

The fabrication of Rama's office, unable to slander himself, repeatedly uses the filthy mouths of his surrogates to stink and pollute public opinion with deceit and slander. These vile slanders were not spared even on the day that should have been dedicated to honoring the memory and work of His Beatitude, Archbishop Anastasios.

Regarding the positioning, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania Prof.Dr. Sali Berisha, he is seated exactly in the place designated by the protocol of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church, in accordance with the rules and tradition of this ceremony. His status as former President and Former Prime Minister guarantees him an honorable place at such events, while respecting both the protocol of the Church itself and the priority and rank according to the state protocol.
Any insinuation or slander that aims to deviate from the truth is a low and despicable attempt to manipulate the public and to create tension where none exists.

It is nothing more than a fabrication of the sick and perverted mind of Edi Rama.
The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, at the end of the funeral ceremony of His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios, after leaving the Cathedral, in a statement he made to a media outlet, among other things, added that during the ceremony, while the icon thief was speaking, hundreds of church icons of Albania's extraordinary heritage were displayed in front of him, which were being sold and trafficked on the black market by the trafficker Edi Rama.

The presence of the Chairman of the Democratic Party at this ceremony was and remains a commitment to honor a prominent figure of faith and spiritual unity, the Head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania Anastasios Janullatos, who with divine dedication resurrected the Church from the ashes of the communist dictatorship into immortality, and no propaganda maneuver can diminish this." /CNA
