Korreshi: Lushnja Hospital in ruins and without equipment, patients are treated

Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi denounced the conditions at the Lushnja hospital this Friday.

Korreshi emphasized that despite the fact that this hospital serves 250 thousand residents, not only of Lushnja and Divjaka but also the areas of Belsh, Rrogozhina and Peqin, it is in an alarming condition.

According to Korreshi, the lack of equipment, budget cuts, the 6-month move of the emergency room and its placement on the first floor of the maternity ward in conditions where most patients receive service in the hallway, as well as other problems, is inexcusable and creates chaos.

 "Today the situation is dramatic. The pictures speak for themselves, let them come and see for themselves. First, the status of the hospital must be changed from municipal to regional, so that there is more investment and budget. The difference is about 150 million lek. The analyzes have been given to the private sector, degrading the city. There are not even medications; this has been an extraordinary hospital, patients have come from all areas, about 250 thousand people. But today, as we speak, there is no equipment that works. The mammography is always broken, the scanner as well, the emergency equipment does not work, and even everything that comes out, comes back in, God forbid something happens. Even the ultrasound equipment is financed by a bank. There is no equipment in Gynecology; if you talk to the gynecologists, you will learn what happens there. I am not talking about the conditions, which are dramatic, not only for the lack of funds. Private hospitals benefit from Albanians' money; everyone knows that Lushnja patients go for analyzes in "Tirana", said the MP./CNA
