"Independence cannot be understood without accountability"/ Lamallari:

The Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, was present at the presentation of the program for the Justice Center's international competition.

In his speech, Lamallari said that the independence of the judiciary cannot be understood without accountability. Lamallari again focused on the delay in processes, saying that one should not wait endlessly for a decision that affects the life or property of another.

The government's task, Lamallari said, is to turn citizens' expectations into reality.

The Minister stated that justice reforms are not being carried out just for this mandate but for the Albania of the future, to establish Albanian justice at a European level.

 

“ Independence cannot be understood without accountability. Accountability and effectiveness are prerequisites of a system, they are not simply gateways to a system. A judicial system is as independent as it is fair, these are the principles of a system. Let us not wait endlessly for a decision that affects the life or property of another. Our task is to turn the expectations of citizens into reality.

"Justice is not just for this mandate or for this generation, it is for the Albania we want to leave behind. Let's continue to reform, to establish Albanian justice at a European level ," Lamallari said./CNA
