Kikia: The country does not simply need rotation, but reforming the system that

Analyst and journalist Mentor Kikia believes that Albania does not simply need a political rotation, but a deep reform of the system that, according to him, has produced and motivated corruption over the years.

Commenting on the political situation in the country, Kikia, in a statement to CNA, emphasizes that the 2025 elections were accompanied by problems, while SPAK investigations have exposed a high level of corruption. According to him, these developments prove that the situation is not normal.

However, Kikia states that the removal of the Rama government or the Socialist Party from power is not a solution in itself. Likewise, the return of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to power, according to Kikia, does not address the essence of the problem.

According to Kikia, the country needs a deep political reform.

Kikia emphasizes that only through a reform of the system can the cycle of corruption be interrupted and citizens' trust in politics and electoral processes restored.

Mentor Kikia for CNA:

The country does not simply need political rotation, but reform of the system that generates corruption.

Is it enough to remove the Rama government, or the socialists, from power? What does Albania need in these conditions?

First of all, it must be acknowledged that the situation is not normal. The 2025 elections had problems.

The affairs exposed as a result of the SPAK investigation prove that the level of corruption is high. But in the meantime, anyone who thinks that the solution is Rama's departure and Berisha's return is wrong.

Albania does not simply need the removal of a government, no matter how corrupt it may be, but simply a political rotation.

The country needs a deep political reform, not the dismissal of a minister or an entire government cabinet, but the destruction of a political and administrative system that has produced and motivated corruption and distorted the electoral race:

-We need an electoral law that guarantees equal voting rights and freedom of choice.

-Politics itself, political parties, must be reformed to make them democratic and transparent.

-Control must be put on the sources of political financing, as a policy that is fed by money from dark sources is destined to produce corruption and collaboration with crime./ CNA
