Journalist Mentor Kikia spoke this evening regarding the protest organized by the opposition.

Kikia stated in a television appearance that the only innovation in this protest was the attempt by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to unite the opposition element, inviting them to join the protests.

Regarding the clashes and incidents, the journalist stated that everything was the same as the January 24 protest.

"It's a story that repeats itself. The characters are simply changed. The speech of the DP leader does not bring anything new; he says the same things. The only peculiarity this time is Berisha's attempt to unite the opposition element. After the failure of the round table with the opposition factors and in the conditions when negotiations for a rapprochement with "Albania Becomes" are underway, an agreement has not yet been reached, due to some conditions that Lapaj has set. In this context, Berisha appeared more humble, inviting everyone to unite.

"All parties have one primary cause: the overthrow of the government, despite the great differences between them. He explained to the smaller parties that they will not lose their identity and that the goal is to create a transitional government, which will prepare the country for elections. This was the main innovation compared to previous protests. As for the violence, I expected a lower level. The tones seemed not to be the same as those of the January 24 protest ," Kikia said. /CNA
