Opposition protest/ Gogu: The last kilometer is not a spectacle, but work, the

Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations, Toni Gogu, has reacted to the opposition protest.

Gogu emphasized that Albania's path towards the European Union is not built through violence and political spectacle.

According to the minister, the opposition is moving away from peaceful protests, turning the protest into a scene of violence.

"The opposition shouts about the "last kilometer". And then it turns the protest into a scene of violence: Molotov cocktails, fireworks, smoke as if this were the "way" forward. They are dragged by the masters of violence, and they are increasingly moving away from civic and peaceful protests. Meanwhile, Albania's "last kilometer" towards the EU is not done with megaphones, Molotov cocktails and spectacle. It is traversed by the farmer who respects the norms, by the worker who works day and night, by the teacher who forms citizens, by the nurse and doctor who keep the system alive, by the civil servant who enforces the law. Let them announce the next "victory" for the cameras. Let Albania move forward with effort, sweat and results—until the chapters are closed," declared Gogu.

Among other things, he emphasized that the last kilometer is not a spectacle, it is work for the destination called Europe.

"The 'last mile' is not a spectacle. It's work. And the destination is called Europe," the minister concluded./ CNA
