Miracle on Everest/ A person is found alive after a week missing on the mountain

An extraordinary story of survival has been recorded in Nepal, where a guide was found alive on Mount Everest after being reported missing for almost a week.

According to authorities and mountain expedition organizers, Dawa Sherpa, also known as Hillary Dawa, was last seen on May 29 near Camp III. He was returning with a Polish climber after they failed to reach the summit of Everest, which rises to 8,849 meters above sea level.

The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, but it is believed that he became separated from his companion somewhere between Camp III and Camp IV. The search for him began immediately after he was reported missing on May 30.

Lama Kazi Sherpa, representative of the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee, said Dawa was located near the base of the mountain, in the dangerous area of ??the Khumbu Glacier. Rescue teams managed to pull him to safety.

The head of the Everest Base Camp office at Nepal's Department of Tourism, Khimlal Gautam, said that aerial searches conducted the day before had yielded no results.

According to authorities, the search operation faced delays due to problems with the expedition's documentation. Dawa Sherpa had obtained climbing permits through one company while climbing with another, which complicated rescue procedures.

The Nepalese company Mount Everest Hiking announced that the Sherpa had survived alone for nearly a week without food, water and supplemental oxygen, moving in extreme conditions on the Khumbu Glacier, even after the safety ladders used during the season had been removed.

During this season, about 1,000 climbers and guides have managed to climb the summit of Everest. However, at least five people have lost their lives while trying to conquer the world's highest mountain. /CNA
