Kuwait declares two Iranian diplomats "non grata"/Orders their

Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared two members of the Iranian diplomatic mission "persona non grata" and has demanded their immediate departure from the country within 24 hours.

According to the official announcement, the ministry summoned the head of the Iranian diplomatic mission to present an official protest regarding what it described as “serious and continuous attacks” by Iran. Kuwaiti authorities stressed that the presence of the two diplomats is no longer acceptable on the country's territory.

Kuwait said the decision came as a result of “continuous, violent and repeated ballistic missile and drone attacks” by Iran. According to authorities, the latest attacks have targeted civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport.

These attacks reportedly resulted in one death, while at least 63 citizens were injured. Material damage was also caused to important facilities and diplomatic buildings.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry described these actions as a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state, the United Nations Charter, the principles of international law, and the relevant Security Council resolutions.

The statement emphasizes that such attacks constitute a serious violation of international norms and warns that Kuwait will respond decisively to any threat that undermines the country's security and stability. /CNA
