United States President Donald Trump announced in a post on the Truth Social platform that he will travel to France for the G7 leaders' summit.
The summit is scheduled to be held June 15-17 in Evian. Trump said he would leave for Paris immediately after a Mixed Martial Arts bout at the White House on his birthday, June 14.
"I'll be heading to the G7 summit in France right after one of the most entertaining nights in American history: the UFC World Championship fights on the South Lawn of the White House. The record shows that while the White House has hosted far lower-level fights throughout its long and rich history, it has never been intended to host anything even remotely approaching this: the greatest fighters in the world, all champions," he wrote in his post on Social Truth.
Earlier, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the US president will also attend the NATO summit to be held in Ankara on July 7 and 8. /CNA
