Asambleja e OKB zgjedh pesë anëtarët e rinj jo të përhershëm të Këshillit të Sigurimit

Asambleja e Përgjithshme e Kombet e Bashkuara ka përfunduar votimin për zgjedhjen e pesë anëtarëve të rinj jo të përhershëm të Këshillit tw Sigurimit tw OKB-së për mandatin 2027–2028.

Në grupin afrikan, Zimbabve u zgjodh me 182 vota, si kandidatja e vetme në garë.

Në grupin e Amerikës Latine dhe Karaibeve, Trinidad dhe Tobago siguruan gjithashtu vendin me 181 vota.

Për grupin e Evropës Perëndimore dhe shteteve të tjera, dy vendet e disponueshme u fituan nga Portugalia me 134 vota dhe Austria me 131 vota. Ndërkohë, Gjermania u rendit e treta me 104 vota, duke mbetur jashtë zgjedhjes.

Në grupin Azi-Paqësor, procesi i votimit kërkoi katër raunde. Kirgistani doli fitues në raundin e katërt me 142 vota kundër 49 votave të Filipinet.

Pas zgjedhjes së Austria, ministrja e Jashtme Beate Meinl-Reisinger u shpreh mirënjohëse për mbështetjen ndërkombëtare, duke theksuar se vendi i saj do ta marrë me seriozitet përgjegjësinë e re në Këshillin e Sigurimit.

Zgjedhjet u zhvilluan pas disa raundeve votimi dhe përcaktuan përbërjen e re të trupit më të rëndësishëm të sigurisë ndërkombëtare në OKB./ CNA
