Balla warns protesters: Whoever attacks the police attacks the state

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, reacted after the incidents at the opposition protest. 

"A few words about the end of the owl protests, where police officers and institutions are attacked. Perhaps to hide their failure with smoke and fire."

"There will always be freedom to protest in our Albania. But there should not be freedom to attack or mistreat those who have chosen to serve in protecting the security of citizens," he said.

Balla emphasized that the role of the State Police is essential for order and security, requiring reflection from society and reaction from justice.

"We must protect those who protect us and we must take care of those who serve the security of citizens. This is what a just and normal state does," he declared.

According to Balla, the police uniform carries a great responsibility, while justice must "make an example" of people who attack officers.

"The blood of the police is the blood of the state. Whoever raises a hand against a police officer has raised a hand against the state," Balla stressed./ CNA
