The opposition has decided to end the boycott and return to the table of discussions with the majority on territorial reform. During the joint meeting, the parties agreed on the list of experts for the commission and on the secretary.

Opposition MP Luciano Boci stressed that the commission should produce a consensual result and not divided political variants. He warned that if the final report does not genuinely include the opposition's proposals, the process would be formal and hypocritical.

"The commission that was established by consensus must have a product, we will work with experts, but in the end we must come up with an agreed product. If our path partially passes through consensus, we vote on certain reports that require consensus and in the end we come up with a personalized political variant, then what is the point of the commission. We must agree on this in principle. Yes, we must have a common product, if we go with the idea that whatever we say is not considered part of the proposals that are fact-checked in the final report, we are on a hypocritical and formal journey. Do we have certainty about this? Unfortunately, we do not. We must have a consensual product. If there is no product, it is a lack of your and our willingness to accept the variant. Yes, not a variant with the color of your party and one with the blue color of the DP", said Boci.

On the other hand, Socialist co-chair Arbian Mazniku expressed the readiness of the Socialist Party to achieve a joint product, ideally with unanimity in the Assembly. He cited as proof of trust the equality in the composition of the commission, the co-chairmanship and the involvement of partners such as the EU and the Congress of Local Authorities.

"The position of the Socialist Party is clear, to have a commission that comes up with a position. If it is possible for this reform to pass unanimously in the assembly, it would be the ideal solution, there is already evidence given by the majority of confidence for such a process, starting from the co-chairmanship, the request for an equal division of the members of the commission, to the request that we convene the Congress of Local Authorities, but also the EU, as partners in the work of this commission. Aware of the fact that this reform would be healthy if we manage to pass it together. The confidence given by the Socialist Party cannot be a mechanism to block the work in order not to advance this reform", said Mazniku.
