The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, says that there is a need for an even tougher fight against the phenomenon of drug trafficking.

In a post on social networks, Balla said that the threads should be followed and they should go to their "bosses" as soon as possible.

He said that the perimeters of control and security must be increased around and near the schools, where the police net will surely catch every criminal.

The success of the next operation of the State Police in hitting a network of traffickers from Kosovo to Albania and seizing a very large amount of doses/tablets of a type of drug highlights the need for an even tougher fight against this phenomenon. This is a battle and a challenge for the police of any country and some may say that it is difficult, that other countries also have this problem. I do not think so. In recent weeks, several networks of narcotics distributors have been hit, even though the leads must be followed and their "bosses" must be reached as soon as possible.

The public and every Albanian family expect the State Police to take more responsibility towards every young man and woman, even teenagers, who today do not know enough about the great risks to their health and families, while falling into the trap of narcotics. So we need a NATIONAL CARPET to clean up as much as possible the distribution of drugs near schools, buildings and other public environments. We must increase as much as possible the perimeters of control and security around and near schools, where our net will definitely catch every criminal. If the State Police intends to return to the most trusted institution, we must first of all not disappoint the parents who expect from us to prevent and fight the sale of drugs in general and near schools in particular. In September, when the school year starts again, parents will entrust us with this task again. The State Police must keep their word and do their duty! The future should not be compared to today and I am motivated to do the best as the public expects from us. I am waiting for results from the State Police!/ CNA
