Socialist MP Erion Braçe's proposal that women be treated with a special permit from the state during the menstrual cycle has brought many reactions in the public opinion. 

In a panel discussion in Euronews Albania with Erla Mëhilli, journalist Dasara Karaiskaj attacked the initiative of deputy Braçe, saying that he is a populist and that the menstrual cycle is not a disease.

" As long as the world does not consider it a disease, science does not say that a menstruating woman is sick, it means that within the framework of the populism that sometimes characterizes Erion, it has gone ahead by calling it a disease, so I start here I am against it ," said Karaiskaj.

Karaiskaj stated that there are girls who feel their cycle for two days and there are others who can do gym while they are on their periods because they have no worries.

Earlier this week, Braçe himself made some comments on this topic, asking for the support of his fellow MPs so that the Parliament approves his proposal that women during their menstrual cycle be paid by the state through a special permit from the doctor. / CNA
