The arrested doctor

A doctor and a nurse in Fier have been arrested by the police after it was discovered that they took 2,000 Lek bribes each to give Methadone to a citizen, in violation of the law/regulations for the sale of this medication.

The event in question was made public in an investigative show "Stop", of 2 cases of the administration of the drug Methadone, in violation of the law and the rules for its use, by 2 employees of hospital institutions in the district, in order to benefit from the amounts of money (2000 ALL each).

At the end of these actions, the following citizens were put in handcuffs for the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Abuse of duty".

- LB, 64 years old, resident of Fier, working as a toxicologist at the regional hospital of Fier;

-EM, 36 years old, resident of Fier, profession nurse in the local health care unit.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Fier General Jurisdiction, for further actions./ CNA
