A large cannabis farm managed by two Albanians has been destroyed by the police in England.

Albanians Klajdi Miraka, 33 years old, and Klajdi Shehu, 23 years old, were arrested in the act while they were hiding one behind the refrigerator and the other in the attic, in order not to be spotted by police authorities.

Police found a secret entrance next door behind a fridge, where they spotted the two Albanians tending to the drug factory in Alnwick, Northumberland.

" When the police checked there, they found a large cannabis farm, with a little less than 600 cannabis plants" - write the British media.

While being interrogated by the police, Shehu denied being involved in the production of cannabis and said he had just slept there.

They have no previous convictions in this country but pleaded guilty to producing cannabis and were each sentenced to six months in prison.

Meanwhile, Shehu's lawyer, Kate Barnes, has stated that he arrived in Britain to work legally and that he feels completely remorseful that through this act he disappointed his mother.

" He came from Albania looking to work legitimately. He deeply regrets that he fell into criminal activity and disappointed his mother. He wants to return home to support her. "- said the lawyer .

Defense attorney Helen Towers said of Miraka: " He suffers from sleep apnea which requires oxygen when he sleeps. It was this reason that made him commit this crime ."/ CNA
