21 attacks in Albania/ Rama: Today it is not journalists who are in danger, but
Prime Minister, Edi Rama

The Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke at the Media Forum for Southeast Europe about the freedom of the media in Albania.

He said that what is at stake today is not journalism, but the truth.

While bringing to mind the figure of 21 journalists attacked because of their duty, Rama said that every attack, every threat against journalists is something disgusting, but he on the other hand raised the question of "How many attacks do journalists make against people every day?".

"I believe that if the end of the world comes, journalism will be the last to die. The question is whether the truth will survive. What is at stake today is not journalism, but the truth. Journalism has become a great mix of truth and lies. "Thoughts are cheap, but facts are expensive." This is what we face today. I heard about 21 attacks on journalists today. I know what the attack is because I have suffered it on the skin. Due to historical circumstances, I know the struggle for freedom of speech. Every attack, every threat against journalists is disgusting, but how many attacks do journalists make against people every day? I know that politicians are not human, but there is a human part. Politicians have families, they have children. I agree and stand in full solidarity with every journalist who is attacked and I fully understand why, how and everything else that journalists' associations stand up for. I often wonder how many times these journalists stand up against individuals in their own group in the name of being a journalist." , said Rama./ CNA
