The prosecution sends the doctor of the Fier hospital to court/ Here's what the investigations revealed

A doctor in Fier has been sent to court by the prosecutor's office after investigations showed negligence regarding the medical treatment of a patient who died.

"The Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of the Fier General Jurisdiction has completed the investigations and has sent for trial the criminal proceedings in charge of the citizen SB, with the duty of a doctor at the emergency of the Fier Regional Hospital, accused of the criminal offense of "Negligence in medical treatment", provided by article 96/2 of the Criminal Code", the announcement states.

The investigations proved that the doctor did not act in accordance with the medical protocol, accepted for the disease from which the AN citizen suffered, and that the patient's transportation was not carried out in accordance with the medical protocol with a specialized team.

As a result of negligence in medical treatment, the AN citizen died.

The court's decision is now awaited for the doctor in question./ CNA
