The municipality of Pustec officially opened the tourist season on May 7. With a very special arrangement in front of the Saint Mhilli church square, hundreds of Prespa residents, as well as guests from all the municipalities of the district, enjoyed traditional cooking to the sounds of local music and folk dances. Two groups of dancers have performed in the square some of the most beautiful dances that this area has, wearing folk costumes hundreds of years old, that best show the heritage that is so fanatically preserved by the residents of the area.
The mayor of Pustec, Pali Kolefski, has shown the focus and importance of these activities to promote the area and bring more tourists and visitors closer. As a municipality that has a lot to offer, from nature and cultural and religious assets, the opening of the tourist season is expected to be successful for Prespa.

"In other years, we have opened the tourist season as well. This year we thought differently, we paid more attention to tradition, cooking, restaurants and businesses that are in Pustec Municipality. I think we should look differently, the municipality and the people who work here and do business in Pustec Municipality deserve special attention. We have brought out all of them with their traditional dishes, each restaurant has brought out their characteristic things that everyone is invited to try. Also, they will be able to enjoy the dance tradition of the Prespa area.
I think that promotion is one of the most important things, next to the investments that we are constantly looking for to change the infrastructure of the area, I think it is the most important.

We have invited both from Macedonia and Greece, but due to the elections they did not come, while the part of Greece today due to a holiday that coincides with Easter and other religious holidays, the opening of the tourist season will remain as a holiday improved from year to year to promote the area", said Kolefski.
Promoting the area is one of the most important things Pustec Municipality has to do, while Kolefski says he wants to change the infrastructure. Dignitaries from Macedonia and Greece were also invited to this activity.
Aleksandër Argjiri, manager of the Ilo restaurant, one of the businesses in the Zaroshka area, told CNA TV the special features of traditional cooking. The most favorite among tourists remains the carp stew, which is cooked with lake water that gives it a very original taste. Among other things, Aleksandri singles out some of the dishes of Prespa that only this area offers.

"Today we have traditional dishes from the Prespa area that Ilo restaurant promotes. We have clean fish, buttermilk, we have pork, beef, venison, some cakes we make ourselves, pickled vegetables. The carp stew is special because it is made with lake water, it gives it its original taste, it is made with flour and white wine. We have the traditional things of the area, the fish is very fresh and the tourists who come like it a lot, they prefer the pan. We also offer breakfasts in our hotel, with traditional things like pancakes with jam, pancakes. They are especially liked by foreign tourists, even big cities like Tirana, Skopje, they remain satisfied and return often", said Argjiri.

Eftim Stavre, music teacher in Pustec, dwells on the great importance of Prespa folk dances and costumes. He says that the clothes are over 200 years old and fanatically preserved by parents and grandparents, and today they are also inherited by young people.
"We as a group have selected some very traditional and folkloric dances from our area and the clothes are over 200 years old, especially for women and girls. Men's clothing is elaborate these 3-4 years. Every village from our area has something more special and original if you look closely at the clothes from Jubleta. We have 4 selected folkloric dances over hundreds of years old and the group of oldest dances that we are, we have almost the same dances as the girls of the "2 Martyrs" school in Pustec", he said.

Eftimi says with great pride that by preserving this tradition, they highlight their identity as Macedonians.
"They are important because here we have our tradition, our culture, with our clothes we show our identity as Macedonians who are in the area. As for the requests from foreigners, there have been requests for women's clothing that are more special and have been preserved by our fathers and mothers to inherit them", declared Stavre.

In the area of ??Prespa, there are 13 guesthouses with 52 accommodation places, 4 hotels with 70 accommodation places and 7 restaurants. All these offer Albanian and foreign visitors a comfortable stay, traditional cuisine, without forgetting the natural and cultural assets that this area has. The opening of the tourist season, unlike other years, with this fantastic organization, will bring a panorama of what we can find in Prespa./ CNA TV
