As part of the Teacher's Day, the "Road of Albanian Letters" exhibition was opened at the Museum of Education. A very special exhibition this March 7, where a precious collection of rare primers was displayed.

In her speech, the director of the city library, Jorida Tollkuçi, showed the importance of this collection of 14 primers, saying that they belong to the years 1844-1913.

"Today on this special day, teacher's day, in the premises of the Museum of Albanian Education to honor and respect the work of the revivalists, we opened the exhibition 'Udha e Shkronjave Albanian' with the precious collection of rare primers that are part of the fund of the library.

This year marks the 180th anniversary of the creation of the first alphabet of the Albanian language, the first Evetar of Naum Veqilharxhi, in 1844. This primer has two unique copies, one of which is part of the collection of the Korça library and the other of the Library National.

This primer was used by Sevasti Qirjazi at the Girls' School.

The second primer of Vekilharxhi from 1845 is also exhibited. The primer of Kristoforidi or as it is called the Alphabet of Elbasan published in 1872, with 53 letters, with which the Gospel of Elbasan was written. Then we have Sami Frashëri's primers, 5 primers which have taken the place of honor in primer publications. Today we exhibit the second reprint of 1888 and the third in 1900. Nikolla Lako's primers, which were published in 1909 and 1913.

The work 'Lessons' by Naim Frashëri in 1894 with patriotic and moral prose. At the beginning of the century XX we have editions of singing for primary and grammar schools", said Tollkuçi.

The old teachers of Korça experience this day with great emotion, who express their nostalgia for the time of teaching, wishing them a happy March 7 holiday.

"I worked for 15 years in education in the city, I was also in the countryside. I have a very nice memory of my students. They have written so beautifully those letters in the sentence: 'We love you teacher and we will never forget you'. I have worked in education for 30 years", said teacher Iliana Bicka.

Meanwhile, the teacher Florence Papanikolla stated: "I have been in education for 36 years, I graduated from high school for Physics and I have been a teacher for many years. With much longing and many emotions, we experience today that my husband was also a teacher. I remember that we always came together for March 7. I wish all students good health and success with their results in life."
