There are many young people from Korcar who have chosen to be part of sports in the city. But those who have chosen the difficult disciplines in the sport of athletics, such as shot put, are really very few.

In the next reportage, Cna presents the profile of Joan Del, a professional in the discipline of shot put. A rather difficult sport, but his passion and desire has not been lacking and has led to success and quite good results.

First, John tells us a little about the history of this discipline, which dates back to the battle of Troy, while it took the form of modernism in the 17th century. This discipline has early beginnings, and for the first time after the battle, it appeared in Scotland.

"This is one of the earliest sports that dates back to the battle of Troy where the Trojans threw stones against the Greek armies, but as a sport it took the form of modernization in the 16-17th century where it first appeared in Great Britain precisely in Scotland. It's also one of the first sports in the modern Olympic games which were held in Athens in the 19th century. In my opinion it's one of the sports that gives you a lot of joy because it's an individual sport where you don't compete you have it with others but you have it with yourself. You can always improve by looking at your mistakes and not blaming it on someone else."

Joan Deli comes from a family of sportsmen, but unlike his grandfather Vanci Luarasi, tennis player and Albanian champion, as well as his father Stavri Deli, a footballer, Joani chose a rather special and difficult discipline. He says that since the age of 12 he has been involved in the sport of shot put, while after a period of pause he returned a few years ago to compete.

"I started at a young age almost 11-12 years old when I first came across this kind of sport. Then I took a break exploring other sports to find myself, now I'm back to it again competed in this sport."

Joan shows that the shot put is one of the most difficult disciplines in athletics, which requires strong physical preparation and efficient technique.

"In my opinion, it is one of the most difficult sports in the athletic disciplines, because in addition to very strong physical preparation, you also need an efficient technique to get the best possible result. When you see it on TV, it looks like something simple, but to throw a spherical ball weighing 7 kg and 260 gr, for some people it is impossible. So this sport is specific for the right people, not everyone does it and this can be seen from the participation in Albania."

An athlete like Joani, to achieve results, needs daily training, about 3 and a half hours, 2 times a day.

"Stërvitjen e kam të përditëshme, përveç hedhjes së gjyles jam duke praktikuar edhe hedhjen e diskut që është po ashtu sport i atletikës së rëndë dhe i nevojitet një lloj tjetër teknike dhe stërvitje.Minimalisht nevojiten 3 orë e gjysëm stërvitje, ta shtish kalendarin e stërvitjes gjatë gjithë muajit dy herë në ditë, në mëngjes dhe në darkë."

Arritja më e lartë momentalisht e Joanit është titulli "Kampion Shqipërie" në këtë disiplinë. Çdo vit rezultatet e tij janë në rritje ndërsa objektivi kryesor i tij është të përfaqësojë Shqipërinë në arenën ndërkombëtare. E jo vetëm vendin tonë, por edhe qytëtin e bukur të Korçës.

"Çdo vit kur organizohen kampionatet dimërore dhe verore nga Federata e Atletikës, po ashtu në Kupën e Shqipërisë. Vjet kam dalë kampion Shqipërie në këtë kupë. Rezultatet nga viti në vit i kam patur me përmirësim dhe shpresoj që edhe këtë vit të ndjek të njëjtat hapa si vitin e kaluar.

Objektivi kryesor si sportist është të përfaqësoj flamurin kombëtar në arenën ndërkombëtare. Për mua do jetë një ëndërr nëse e realizoj të përfaqësohem në këto lloj aktivitetesh. Shpresoj që me rezultatet e këtij viti nëse do jap maksimumin tim mund të jem në një garë ndërkombëtare për të përfaqësuar Shqipërine, pse jo edhe Korçën."

Duket se prirja e fëmijëve dhe të rinjve sot është drejt sporteve kolektive si futbolli, basketbolli e volejbolli, ndërsa ka shumë pak të rinj që zgjedhin sportet individuale si rasti i Joanit. Ai tregon arsyen se pse ndodh kështu.

"Në radhë të parë mendoj me sporte si disku, hedhja e gjyles, shtiza fëmijët dhe të rinjtë duhet të qasen, ta kuptojnë çfarë lloj sporti është dhe ti praktikojnë nëse e ndiejnë veten për ta ndjekur. Në këtë mënyrë ata kuptojnë nëse janë të prirur për ta vazhduar ose jo. Ditët e sotme, siç e kemi parë dhe në rrjete sociale, promovimi i atletikës jo vetëm në Shqipëri por edhe në rang europian dhe botëror, është në një "dozë" të ulët në krahasim me futbollin, basketbollin dhe volejbollin. Duke qënë dhe sporte kolektive fëmijët dhe të rinjtë janë të prirur për ti ndjekur, shkojnë me shoket, argëtohen. Ndërsa këto janë sporte individuale dhe kënaqësinë që e ndjen më veten të ndodh vetëm kur kap rezultate të mira dhe duke dalë fitues. Është një rrugëtim të cilin duhet ta ndjekësh ti, dhe ke dëshirë që në të ardhmen të jesh i pari në këtë lloj sporti."

Apeli i sportistit korçar shkon për prindërit e fëmijëve, dhe të rinjtë që shohin këtë reportazh, duke u dhënë një këshillë mjaft të vlefshme që të kthejnë sytë nga disiplinat individuale, pasi në Korçë janë të gjitha mundësitë për ti ndjekur ato.

"My appeal goes to parents because in our city there is an opportunity to practice these sports, there are fields, logistics, as well as coaches who enable you to follow these disciplines. Anyone who wants can show children and young people that apart from football, basketball and volleyball, there are also these other sports in which young people can find themselves."

Joan Deli is an example of a young prodigy who has not become part of the sports that most young people choose, but has embraced the difficult discipline of shot put. He is taking the right steps, with a lot of will, desire and passion to leave his mark in this discipline and to honor not only his city, but also Albania./ CNA
