More than 20 Albanian and foreign painters have joined a colony to bring spring to Cologne in their works. For 4 days in a row, painters from Canada, Turkey, Peru and other countries of the region have selected different landscapes of the area, bringing them to the closing exhibition.

Two of the Albanian painters, Helidon Haliti and Fatmir Juka, have evaluated the landscapes offered by Cologne with very positive marks, while they say that the arrival of well-known painters is a promotion of the values ??of this area.

"We have artists who came from Peru, Canada, Turkey, Macedonia and Albanian artists who just made history here because they found a common language. An extraordinary beauty of nature that we came as colonizers but it conquered us. The painter from Peru, Jorge Corpuna, was amazed and attracted by the field of Cologne, with a work that he brought with very beautiful colors that not only show his professional ability as an artist, but also the natural beauties of Cologne.

"It's the first time in Albania. Fantastic place. I'm having a lot of fun here, I met a lot of good, talented, collaborative artists. Here I retired from the field of Cologne and I'm enjoying it in my own way".

The Turkish painter, Atanaur Dogan, skillfully created the portrait of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti, highlighting the connection between Albanians and Turks. He says he decided to paint a hero to be even more special compared to the works other artists chose.

We Turks have something in common with you Albanians, and the two people who bring us together are Skenderbeu and Ataturk. I decided to paint Skenderbeu because I looked around Albania but here in Cologne his name was often mentioned and I wanted to humble myself towards your nation and your people by painting what is important to you, so I painted Skenderbeu".

Every year, the colony attracts many painters to the area who organize colonies and bring together Albanian and foreign artists.
