Fatmir Xhafaj, Etilda Gjonaj and Petro Koçi yesterday came to the defense of Erion Veliaj and the thieving directors of the Tirana Municipality, who are in prison for stealing tenders.

Prime Minister Edi Rama asked them to distance themselves from such positions, while today the number two of the government, Blendi Klosi, has taken the same position as Rama.

In a statement with journalists, the General Secretary of the SP said that the SP does not protect any person who has problems with justice.

 "As for justice, anyone who has been asked to provide information before justice has never been hindered by SP and Rama. This is the realization of the promise of an independent justice. We have no comment regarding the relationship with justice. Tirana is the most important district in the upcoming electoral race. We are preparing for 2025. SP is focused on winning the fourth term, so we are working throughout Albania. Our effort is to triumph again in Tirana as we triumphed only a year ago", he said.
