The union of taxi drivers in Tirana has risen in protest and has presented several demands to the Municipality of Tirana.
The head of the union, Gëzim Karanxha, accused that some of the taxi service companies are owned by the directors of the Municipality of Tirana.
He raised allegations that the directors of Erion Veliaj are laundering money with taxi companies and have harmed competition.
"The problem is the granting of licenses without criteria by the Municipality of Tirana for companies that are laundering money and have disrupted the market and prices," he said.
Karanxha emphasized that the Taxi Drivers' Union will continue to escalate the protests until measures are taken./ CNA
