Muçollari: Shalsi wanted to make Shehu an enemy for the ice cream scandal

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, has reacted after the pressure that the head of the Economy Commission, Eduart Shalsi, exerted on the head of the KLSH, Arben Shehu for the contaminated ice creams.

Muçollari says that Shalsi wanted to make Shehu an enemy to hide the scandal with the dangerous ice creams that were sold in 2021.

He emphasizes that if AKU has not done anything, the government has also done nothing for the ice cream trade.

The confusion that was created yesterday by a statement of the head of KLSH in the Economy Commission, regarding a large amount of ice creams that were put on the market, 3 years ago, was not helped at all by the reprimanding attitude of the socialist head of this commission, Shalsi.

Shalsi asks the president of KLSH, why did you bring us an old story now. The tendency is typical of the Renaissance. To find some conspiracy or enemy who is blinded by the successes of the government.

The concern raised yesterday by the head of KLSH may not have been properly addressed, and it may not have been presented to the public well, but the essence remains. The essence has to do with the fact that 3 years ago, AKU did not do its duty to protect citizens and children from this amount of ice cream dangerous to health.

And what is more important, it has to do with the other and more worrying fact, that AKU continues to vegetate for food security.

And of course, AKU is not a separate, autonomous entity. Represents the government. If this agency has done nothing, the government has done nothing.

And this is not an old story at all.

But it is the actuality that follows every day.

From specialized organizations such as ALERT, or in the media, there are many cases that show that this agency that has our health and that of our children in its hands, fails in a systematic way.

We have never seen that AKU has monitored and caught a harmful commodity or product in time. We have not seen that this government agency has guaranteed us food security.

There are several cases this month, where AKU results in total non-existence.

As it was for a type of salami that came from Italy. The authorities there removed it directly from the market, AKU did not take any steps, it was enough only with a half-hearted announcement on its website.

AKU did nothing even about the alert that came about a large amount of chicken that had resulted in salmonella, even after the signals that it had to be removed from the market.

AKU has done nothing to increase inspection this holiday season, where food security is even more vital due to high temperatures.

AKU from the agency that was supposed to guarantee food safety and people's health, is actually a risk. Because by not doing the job, it leaves the citizens without protection.

This situation is intolerable. The consequences cannot be covered with renaissance propaganda, as they are dramatic.

An immediate solution is needed, and this should start from the problem itself, which is AKU./CNA
