Wave of attacks in Persian Gulf countries/ Missile alert throughout Dubai

Missile alarms were heard across Dubai today as Iran continued its retaliatory airstrikes in the Persian Gulf region.

The Dubai Media Office said the explosions heard overnight were the result of successful aerial reconnaissance operations, adding that no casualties were reported.

Attacks were also reported in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. Saudi authorities said a ballistic missile targeting Prince Sultan Air Base was intercepted.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said a shell caused a small fire near an Australian base in the United Arab Emirates, near Dubai. Albanese said there were no injuries.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the Iranian attacks targeted places where American forces were present.

"Wherever American forces were concentrated, wherever there were facilities belonging to them, they were targeted. It is possible that some of these places were near urban areas,"  Araghchi told Al Jazeera. /CNA
