US orders embassies to immediately review security after rising attacks

The US State Department has ordered all US embassies and consulates around the world to immediately conduct security reviews due to the worsening situation in the Middle East.

According to an internal cable, embassies must report to Washington as soon as possible on their security situation and, when necessary, inform American citizens of potential risks.

The decision comes as tensions have risen following recent attacks on American facilities. A drone and missile attack hit the US Embassy in Baghdad, while other incidents have been reported in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Norway.

US officials emphasize that these measures are part of standard procedures for dealing with security risks and do not necessarily represent a specific new threat.
